Standard Orders: Minimum two (2) weeks before the collection / delivery deadline is required when requesting for quotes.
Since we find unique flavours from all over the world, product completion can be a little longer and it's not unusual to have delays. So do remember to order early! Additionally, we cook from scratch which means buying basic ingredients, using more fruits and vegetables, and less pre-made sauces loaded with sugar and salt, preservatives and additives or prepared ingredients. This allows us to present unique flavours. We also custom-design our menus for the client depending on the occasion and the budget. This requires time.
As such, late orders that is any order with less than two weeks to delivery will not be accepted as the organization runs into the risk of compromising its quality and therefore its reputation as well as chalking up more costs for the clients than it needs to be. Else, late orders will be subject to a late order fee (see more details below). So if you do not want to miss out on your favourite , ask us for a quote here early, and you will not be disappointed.
ORDER DATE BY:
Standard Orders: Minimum one (1) week or seven (7) days notice is required when completing the requirements for the order for platters and standard cakes and the orders are received before noon on a Friday.*
For full Catering: 4 weeks notice (minimum)
For Wedding Cakes: 6 weeks notice (minimum)
Please note the minimum orders for catering is 20 pax and for cupcakes is twelve.
My Farmhouse Kitchens will NOT collect payments in the form of cheques at any time. Clients are responsible to make near or exact cash available by the time of the final payment. Our preferred mode of payment is electronic banking. Payments made via E-wallet and bank deposits shall be accompanied with a reference to our invoice number issued to you. If using FNB phone banking, use Pay-2-Cell 75987534. The latter is the easiest option for you and preferred by us.
Service booking is only confirmed on payment of a deposit of 50% of the quotation.
In order to schedule your cake on your event date a 50% non- refundable deposit is required. Without the deposit, we will not hold your date. Priority will be given to the paying customer. The deposits are to ensure the customer will be ordering the cake and to cover our costs (time and ingredients) in case the cake is cancelled after we have started works on it.
Deposit payment is non-refundable.
All final payments must be paid 10 days prior to the event. The service will not be provided unless full amount is paid.
If payments are not made by the due date, the order will be cancelled.
LATE ORDER POLICY:
Late Orders (with less than two weeks to delivery) will not be entertained. If however, you still want us to do the cake or the meal, the order will be subject to a minimum of 25-50% surcharge of the total cost of the order.
Specialty cakes and non-wedding cakes may be placed by visiting our studio. Appointments are taken for event cakes, complicated custom orders, and corporate orders. Kindly have the following details ready when calling or visiting to discuss an order:
ALLERGIES AND INGREDIENTS:
We use fresh ingredients and we bake from scratch. Ingredients include flour, sugar, eggs, butter, milk, fruits and nuts. Preservatives are not used in our products. We bake butter cakes…a lot like pound cakes and nothing at all like grocery store cake mixes. At this time we do not guarantee 100% gluten free, dairy free or sugar free products and are not a certified Kosher establishment. Also note that some of our products may contain nuts. Those with wheat, dairy, and nut allergies should not consume our products.
CHANGES TO ORDER:
You may make any changes that you wish to a retail order until 72 hours / 3 days prior to the pick up time on your written order form. We cannot guarantee any additional flavors will be available if changes are made within 72 hours.
There will be no refund of payment should an event be cancelled.
SERVING OUR PRODUCTS:
Our products are best served at room temperature the day or the day after you pick up your order. Cakes keep fresh for about 2 to 3 weeks afterwards if stored properly. Best kept chilled on summer days.

Cup-Cake Stands, Cake Stands and rented plastic accessories MUST be returned within 3 business days, customer agrees to pay full replacement cost if these accessories are not returned on time.
LATE PAYMENT PENALTY FEE:
Any payment that are not paid up at the stipulated payment date by, will attract 50% annual compound interest calculated monthly (use this software to check the due amount). That is the opportunity cost for using the money that is due to the organization. It makes better sense to borrow the money from a bank than from us!
