DEVELOPED BY MFK-GARDENS THE URBAN FARMER LEARNING CENTRE
A learning centre can greatly enhance the development and progress of farmers after training sessions. To do so with our learners, we are happy to have implemented several supportive and engaging strategies, such as follows:
- Follow-Up Mentorship
To ensure continued support beyond the workshop, each farmer has been paired with a dedicated trainer or experienced mentor for ongoing guidance as you implement what you’ve learned. We encourage you to stay in touch with your assigned mentor through your respective WhatsApp Group of the MFK Gardens Centre for TFLC Graduates. They are here to walk alongside you as you take the next steps in your farming journey. - Field Visits & Demonstrations
Farmers are encouraged to contact the Centre to arrange on-site visits for troubleshooting challenges, demonstrating advanced farming practices, or highlighting successful outcomes. These visits provide practical, hands-on support to reinforce learning and promote continuous improvement. - Peer Learning Networks
Your workshop cohort, along with graduates from previous sessions, form a valuable peer learning network. These networks are designed to support the formation of farmer clusters or discussion forums—either in-person or through platforms such as WhatsApp or Facebook—to encourage collaboration, knowledge sharing, and mutual growth. - Progress Tracking Tools
Trainers will provide practical tools and checklists to support farmers in monitoring your progress, measuring outcomes, and identifying areas for continuous improvement throughout your farming journey. - Refresher Courses
We offer targeted, short-format sessions designed for alumni to reinforce and deepen their understanding of key topics. These can be arranged online or in person. Participants are also encouraged to revisit workshops or complete the Centre' recommended foundational sessions particularly on Agribusiness Management Workshop (one-day session) and Regenerative Agriculture Workshop (two-day session) to strengthen your knowledge base and farming practice. - Access to Resources
Our website features a dedicated resource hub, providing access to videos, guides, case studies, and technical sheets to support continued learning and on-the-ground implementation. Click here. - Showcase Opportunities
We highlight alumni journeys and achievements through newsletters, events, and exhibitions—celebrating success stories to inspire others and foster a culture of learning and recognition.
- Market Linkages Support
We assist farmers in establishing connections with buyers, input suppliers, and cooperatives to enhance their market position. For support with market access, please contact Letsema Horticulture Market located at Block 3 Industrial.
