who are we and what we do
Empowering Urban Farmers with Flexible Learning, Ongoing Support, and Regenerative Farming Practices
The MFK Gardens The Urban Farmer Learning Centre a dedicated arm of the MFK-Gardens Centre, which also houses the Horticulture Seedlings Production Centre, is committed to helping urban farmers -- urban professionals and executives from corporate spaces — who generate capital during the week so as to invest in horticulture production.
We understand that you not only have the capacity, but more importantly, the inherent drive and willingness to farm with purpose.
We focus on those passionate about horticulture and agro-processing, even without formal training.
Our Learning Centre offers high-quality theoretical and hands-on training designed to build competence and confidence in farming practices. But what makes us different? Regenerative agriculture is not a side topic but form an integral part of all our programmes. Our programs empower farmers with the knowledge to regenerate soils and adopt sustainable practices.
Flexible Weekend Learning for Busy Professionals
At MFK-Gardens Farmers Learning Centre, we understand the time constraints faced by our core audience. That’s why our programmes are specifically structured around weekend classes, allowing busy professionals to acquire practical, intensive training without compromising their weekday commitments. Our website also hosts a robust database of guides to ensure continuous learning and application of farming skills.
Ongoing Post-Workshop Support
We recognise that learning doesn't stop when the workshop ends. That’s why all our courses come with post-session support programmes to ensure you’re never alone in your learning journey. Participants receive access to field mentoring, seasonal guidance, and follow-up coaching designed to reinforce implementation and adapt practices to your specific farming context.
